3 postgraduate students go to Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Australian National University for Academic exchange

Supported by IMU Innovation Improvement Program for Postgraduate Students(for Foreign Academic Visit), 3 postgraduate students under the Program of Chinese Ethnic Minority Economics with IMU Research Center of Chinese Nation went to Massachusetts Institute of Technology(MIT) and Australian National University(ANU) for short-term academic visit and exchange. Three students are Mei Limei, a PhD student admitted to the center in 2021, Haorwa, a PhD student admitted to the center in 2021 and Handbao, a master student admitted to the center in 2021. Of them, Mei Limei studied and exchanged from September 2022 to December 2022 at the School of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, MIT and Haorwa and Handbao at the College of Asia and the Pacific, ANU from September 2022 to July 加拿大app平台.

During their visits and exchange, three students attended some courses related to their research focus and participated in some academic symposiums, meetings for visiting scholars and multicultural festivals. During their visits, their academic English and ability for scientific research have been improved and they have laid a solid foundation for their future international academic cooperation and exchange, which can effectively promote the “Double-First-Class” development of the discipline of ethnology of IMU.

IMU Innovation Improvement Program for Postgraduate Students(for Foreign Academic Visits) mainly supports the outstanding postgraduate students of IMU to have short-term study and research at high-level foreign universities or research institutions to further push forward IMU’s internationalization in postgraduate education, broaden the international horizon of its postgraduate students, improve the quality of its postgraduates and foster the innovation thinking and innovation ability of its postgraduate students with the scientific research facilities of high-level foreign universities. To be brief, the program provides a wonderful platform of academic exchange for postgraduate students of IMU, boosts the improvement on innovation ability of postgraduate students of IMU and broadening of its postgraduate students’ international horizon and supplies a new opportunity for development of the discipline of the ethnology of IMU.

A brief introduction to 3 students

Haorwa, a PhD student under the Program of Chinese Ethnic Minority Economics who was admitted to IMU in 2021, has got involved in the research work of one project supported by the National Social Science Fund of China, took charge of an autonomous-region-level project and two university-level projects and published 3 articles in the significant journals at home and abroad and 1 monograph which was published by a first-class publisher. She has won China National Scholarship, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Scholarship, Academic Achievement Scholarship and honor of university-level “Three-Good” Student. Haorwa graduated from the School of Economics and Management of Nanchang Hangkong University as bachelor of economics and the School of Economics and Management of IMU as master of economics. From September 2019 to June 2020, she participated in the international program for visiting scholars at Concordia University, Canada.

Mei Limei, a PhD student under the Program of Chinese Ethnic Minority Economics who was admitted to IMU in 2021, has got involved in the research work of “the Team Project for the Development of Young Scientific and Technological Talents of Institutions of Higher Learning” and that of the key project supported by Inner Mongolia Social Science Fund. She has won Academic Achievement Scholarship and the honor of university-level “Three-Good Student”. Mei has also taken charge of the research of 1 university-level innovation project and 1 school-level innovation project. Mei Limei graduated from China Pharmaceutical University as bachelor and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies as master.

Handbao, a master student under the Program of Chinese Ethnic Minorities Economics who was admitted to IMU in 2021, has got involved in the research work of 1 key project supported by the National Social Science Fund of China and that of “the Team Project for the Development of Young Scientific and Technological Talents of Institutions of Higher Learning” and led the research work of 1 project for the scientific research innovation of postgraduate students. He has published 1 article as the first author. Handbao has won one Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Scholarship and 2 Achievement Scholarships. His IELTS score is 7.0. He graduated from the School of Economics and Business Administration of Heilongjiang University as bachelor.
