As a mass group under the leadership of the University’s Party committee, the Trade Union in Inner Mongolia University is a bridge and link of the University’s Party committee connecting with faulty members and a work place for Faculty Delegates’ Congress. It is also the organizer and participator of Faculty Delegates’ Congress. The Trade Union in Inner Mongolia University is responsible for daily work after closing Faculty Delegates’ Congress. The members of Trade Union have two identities: the representative of the Trade Union members and the representative of faculty. The Trade Union, consisting Integrated Department and Women Worker Department of Youth Recreational and Sports Activities, has 2768 members, 4 full-time cadres and 28 primary branches. It set up Women Faculty Committee to be in charge of women faculty’s work of Inner Mongolia University. Actually, at the beginning of building the University, the Trade Union was also preparing for its establishment. Before the Cultural Revolution, the Trade Union once held two sessions of its members’ congress, however, its activities have been stopped for ten years due to the Cultural Revolution. In June 1979, the third session of Trade Union delegates’ congress was held. To fully mobilize the activity of faculty, Central government put forward that university should establish and improve faculty delegates’ congress system under the leadership of Party committee. In this context, Inner Mongolia University’s Faculty Delegates’ Congress came into being. In July 1985, the University held the first session of Faculty Delegates’ Congress and the fourth session of the Trade Union Members’ Congress, and built faculty delegates’ congress system. Since then, “the two Congresses” have gradually developed along the right line and become an indispensable form for faculty exercising their democratic rights and democratic management of the University. In 1991, the fifth session of Trade Union Members’ Congress and the second session of Faculty Delegates’ Congress were held. Afterwards, “the two Congresses” were held every three to five years. In June 2014, the seventh session of Faculty Delegates’ Congress and the tenth session of Trade Union Members’ Congress were held. Until now, ten sessions of Trade Union Members’ Congress and seven sessions of Faculty Delegates’ Congress have been held successively. At present, Faculty Delegates’ Congress has set up three special committees including the Mediation Committees for Personnel, Welfare and Labor Disputes, the Committee for the Construction of Teachers’ Ethics and the Committee for Proposals. The work of Faculty Delegates’ Congress gradually became standardized and systematic. Over these years, the Trade Union has striven to actively carry out work around the reform and development of education and has done numerous practical work and good deeds for the majority of faculty, which won the praise of them. In the new century, the Trade Union creatively carried out a series of productive work and made great progress. Since 2001, the Trade Union has always been chosen as “the outstanding unit of target assessment performance” by the Autonomous Trade Union of Education, Science, Culture and Health. In March 2001, the first “Research Center for Women Problems” was established in Inner Mongolia Autonomous region. It organized various forms of activities to show intellectual women‘s spirits, safeguard the majority of women faculty’s rights and interests and encourage them to devote themselves to teaching, scientific researching and management. In 2002, Women Faculty Committee of the Trade Union won the advanced collective honorary title of the forth session of “Spring Buds Project” awarded by Women’s Federation and Children’s Fund Federation of Inner Mongolia Autonomous region. In 2003, the Trade Union was awarded the honorary title of “advanced group of fighting against SARS” by National Trade Union of Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports, and the same year, the Women Faculty Committee won the honorary title of “the Autonomous model workers home”. In 2004, the Trade Union got the honorary title of “the Autonomous model workers home”, and the same year, the Women Faculty Committee was granted the honorary title of “the advanced group of national March 8 Red-Banner”. In 2005, the Trade Union won the model unit of “create a learning organization and become knowledgeable workers”. In 2006, the Trade Union won the honorary title of “advanced group of national construction of teachers’ ethics”. The Women Faculty Committee won the honorary title of advanced group of the fifth session of “Spring Buds Project” awarded by Women’s Federation and Children’s Fund Federation of Inner Mongolia Autonomous region, the outstanding organization award by National Trade Union of Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports for essay activity on online forum about “knowledgeable women elegance ” and “scientific mothers’ love”, and the honorary title of “women civilization station” by Saihan District government of Huhhot. In December 2008, the Women Faculty Committee was awarded “advanced women faculty organization” by National Trade Union of Education, Science, Culture, Health and Sports. In September 2009, the Research Center for Women Problems was granted the honorary title of “national March 8 Red-Banner group” and advanced group of the Autonomous women and children research in 2010. In 2012, the University won the advanced unit of the Autonomous faculty vocational ethics, and the Autonomous May 1st Labor Certificate by the Autonomous Trade Union in 2014. Especially in recent years, guided by the theory of socialism Trade Union development with Chinese characteristics and the outlook of scientific development, the Trade Union organizations at all levels in the University, under the leadership of the Party committee of the University and the superior Trade Union, and with the support of the University administration and the majority of faculty, continue to innovate their working concepts, seriously implement the function of maintaining, building, participating and education, and consciously serve for the overall situation of the University reform and development. They will act as a bridge and link to bring faculty’s wisdom and strength into one in the corn work of the University, and actively devote themselves to the construction of the various causes of the University. They have done solid work and made great progress in the University’s democratic management, maintaining faculty’s rights and interests, safeguarding campus stability, promoting the construction of teachers’ ethics, enriching campus culture and improving themselves. At present, the members of Trade Union at all levels of Inner Mongolia University fully devote themselves to various causes to build a higher-level university. Facing with new situation and new target, the Trade Union will, guided by the ten spirit of the Autonomous Trade Union and the spirit of the ninth University’s Party Representative Congress, and under the leadership of the University Party committee and the superior Trade Union, unite and mobilize all faculty members to seek truth, do practical work and to make innovation. They will work together to further promote healthy and fast development of the Faculty delegates’ Congress and the Trade Union. It is striving toward its goal of building a higher-level university with national characteristics and local special features.
